More than 700 ARBs in Coron get free farm lands from DAR Mimaropa

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) – Mimaropa on Friday afternoon gave certificates of land-ownership awards (CLOA) to 786 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Coron, Palawan.

Agrarian Reform Secretary Bernie Cruz and Coron Mayor Mario T. Reyes Jr. led the hand-over of CLOAs to 10 ARB representatives during the distribution ceremony last Friday, April 29.

The CLOA covers at least 800-900 hectares of the 2,109 hectares of land known as Lot 699 (Busuanga Cadastre) and portions of the Yulo King Ranch (YKR) located in the barangays of San Jose and Dacalachao.

These areas are within the so-called Busuanga Pasture Reserve, a government owned land that has been acquired through Executive Order No. 75 Series of 2019.

The EO mandates all government agencies to identify idle lands owned by government that are suitable for agricultural activities to be distributed to qualified beneficiaries.

Five agricultural graduates and 55 former rebels are among the beneficiaries; 3i3 of the beneficiaries are women.

Naipamahagi ng Department of Agrarian Reform – Mimaropa ang mga titulo ng may  900 ektarya ng lupain sa may 786 na beneoisyaryo sa Coron, Palawan.

Naganap ang distribusyon ng certificates of land ownership awards (CLOA) nitong nakaraang Biernes ng hapon, April 29.

Pinangunahan mismo nina Agrarian Reform Secretary Bernie Cruz at Coron Mayor Mario T. Reyes, Jr. ang seremonyal na paggawad ng CLOA sa sampung kinatawan ng mga benepisyaryo.

Saklaw ng CLOA ang tinatawag na Lot 699 o Busuanga Cadastre at ang bahagi ng Yulo King Ranch na matatagpuan sa mga barangay ng San Jose at Dacalachao.

Ang naturang lupain ay nakapaloob sa Busuanga Pasture Reserve na nakuha ng DAR Mimaropa sa pamamagitan ng Executive Order No. 75 Series of 2019.

Nilalayon ng EO na makuha ang lahat ng mga na; katiwangwang na lupain ng gobyerno na pwedeng magamit sa agricultura at maipamahagi sa mga benepisyaryo ng mga programa ng pamahalaan gaya ng Agrarian Reform.

Kabilang sa mga benepisyaryo ang limang agriculture graduates at 55 na dating rebelde.

Sa 786 na mga benepisyaryo, 313 sa kanila ay mga kababaihan.

Final testing at pagseselyo sa mga VCM sa unang linggo ng Marso na

Tuloy ang pagsasasagawa ng final testing and sealing ng vote counting machine (VCM) sa unang linggo ng Marso.

Ayon kay Regional Election Director Jose Nick Jose Mendros, ang pagsasagawa ng  final testing and sealing ng mga gurong lalahok sa halalan ay para matignan ang mga posibleng problema kung saka-sakali at maayos agad habang maaga pa.

Kaugnay nito, hinikayat ni Director Mendros ang mga partido at kandidato na makipag-ugnayan sa kanilang mga local election officer para makadalo ang kanilang mga watcher sa final testing and sealing.

Ang mga petsa ng final testing and sealing sa mga lalawigan ay ang mga sumusunod: May 3 para sa Mindoro Provinces, May 4 para sa Romblon at Palawan at May 5 para sa Marinduque.

Mismong sina Director Mendros at ilang mga opisyal ng Comelec Region IV-B ay magtutungo sa Kalayaan Islands para obserbahan ang pagsasagawa ng final testing and sealing ng VCM doon.

Para madaling resolbahin ang mga isyu ng nasisirang SD Cards at iba pang teknikal na problema, nagtayo ng 12 provincial technical hub ang Comelec Region IV-B sa limang lalawigan: Isa sa Marinduque, 3  sa   Occidental Mindoro, 2 sa Oriental Mindoro; 4 sa Palawan at 2 sa Romblon.

Comelec assures readiness for the upcoming elections

The regional Commmision on Election office is in the last leg of their preparations for the 2022 National and Local Elections.

In an interview, Regional Election Director Jose Nick Mendros said vote counting machnes are now in their warehouses in the provinces and some of them will be used for the final testing and sealing on the first week of March.

“The teachers will open the sealed machines, insert shaded sample ballots and test the accuracy of the machines….there will be no transmission…the purpose of the testing is to check if the votes are counted,” said Director Mendros.

The schedule for the final testing and sealing are as follows: May 3 for Mindoro Provinces, May 4 for Romblon and Palawan and May 5 for Marinduque.

Director Mendros and other Comelec officials will be joining the testing in Kalayaan island.

He also expected the distribution of the voter’s information sheets is completed last week and the ballots and other election paraphernalia will be delivered to the city and municipal treasure offices by next week.

Comelec likewise put up 12 provincial technical hubs supported by DICT and DOST personnel to resolve damaged SD cards and other issues: one in Marinduque, 3   Occidental Mindoro, 2 in Oriental Mindoro; 4 in Palawan at 2 in Romblon.

Paglahok ng lahat ng sektor sa 2022 National and Local Elections, tiniyak ng Comelec

Tiniyak ng Comelec Region IV-B na lahat ng mga rehistradong botante ay makakalahok sa 2021 National and Local Elections.

Ayon kay Regional Election Director Jose Nick Mendros, may mag-aasikaso sa mga persons with disabilities, mga katutubo Indigenous People at iba pang rehistradong botante na nabibilang sa vulnerable sector sa araw ng halalan.

Katunayan, nagsasagawa ng mga aktibidad ang Office for the Vulnerable Sector ng Comelec para maranasan din ng mga botante ang pagboto sa mga malalayong lugar gaya ng Sitio Nanabo, Barangay Caramay, Roxas Palawan kung saan nagkaroon ng voting demonstration noong unang linggo ng Abril.

Kasama mismo ni Director Mendros si Comelec Commissioner Aimee Ferolino sa voting demonstration sa Sitio Nanabo kung saan mayroong 121 registered voters.

Bukod sa mga PWD at IPs, kabilang din sa vulnerable sector ang mga senior citizen at buntis.

Ang Mimaropa ay mayroong mahigit na 1.9 registered voters at inaasahang gagamit ng may 3,348 na vote counting machines. (LP)

Spoken Poetry Contest: mga kabataang Mimaropa kontra sa bawal na gamot

QUEZON CITY, July 22 —Tatlong libo’t pitong daan at tatlumput anim ang naitalang mga kabataan mula apat hanggang labing pitong taong ang nailigtas ng pamahalaan sa operasyon kontra droga.

Sa ulat ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)  mula july 1, 2016 hanggang may 31, 202, Pinakamarami sa mga nailigtas na bata ay mga di-umano’y  pusher (2,180) at 412 ang di-umano’y user.

Sa huling operasyon ng PDEA Palawan nitong July 19, dalawa sa apat kataong nahulihan ng ilang gramo ng hinihinalang shabu sa Puerto Princesa City ay mga menor de edad.

Mahalaga ang partisipasyon ng mga kabataan sa kampanya kontra iligal na droga kaya minabuti ng Mimaropa Regional ICAD Coordinating Group- Advocacy Cluster na isama sila sa pamamahagi ng impormasyon kontra droga.

Isa na rito ang spoken poetry contest kung saan tinalakay ng 13 kalahok ang epekto ng droga sa sarili, sa pamilya at sa bansa gamit ang tulang may ritmo at tugtog

bilang pasasalamat, hinihikayat ng Mimaropa Regional ICAD Coordinating Group- Advocacy Cluster ang publiko suportahan ang mga kalahok.

Ranting In rhymes: young Mimaropans speak out vs drug abuse

The Spoken Poetry Contest organized by the Mimaropa Regional Inter-Agency Committee on Illegal Drugs Coordinating Group – Advocacy has 13 young performing poets explaining and interpreting the ill effects of illegal drugs via creative rhymes combined with the coolest music.

This is a way of partnering with the youth in discouraging the public from getting high on prohibited drugs.

But the public will have the opportunity to take part in the campaign by choosing the six  best explainers (first, second and third placers) in two categories: 13-18 year olds and 19-24 year olds.

All they need to do is to watch the video entries on facebook.com/RICADCG.AdvocacyCluster4B and pick the contestant based on their content, wordplay and storytelling styles by hitting the heart button.

The voting ends on July 23, 2021 at 1 pm.

In general, all contestants zoomed into the damages caused by drug abuse and its undesirable effects.

Meanwhile, data from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (from July 1, 2016 to May 31, 2021) showed 3, 736 children ages 4 to 17 years old were rescued from drug bust operations.

But out of that number, 2, 180 were allegedly pushers and 412 were allegedly drug users.
