Comelec assures readiness for the upcoming elections

The regional Commmision on Election office is in the last leg of their preparations for the 2022 National and Local Elections.

In an interview, Regional Election Director Jose Nick Mendros said vote counting machnes are now in their warehouses in the provinces and some of them will be used for the final testing and sealing on the first week of March.

“The teachers will open the sealed machines, insert shaded sample ballots and test the accuracy of the machines….there will be no transmission…the purpose of the testing is to check if the votes are counted,” said Director Mendros.

The schedule for the final testing and sealing are as follows: May 3 for Mindoro Provinces, May 4 for Romblon and Palawan and May 5 for Marinduque.

Director Mendros and other Comelec officials will be joining the testing in Kalayaan island.

He also expected the distribution of the voter’s information sheets is completed last week and the ballots and other election paraphernalia will be delivered to the city and municipal treasure offices by next week.

Comelec likewise put up 12 provincial technical hubs supported by DICT and DOST personnel to resolve damaged SD cards and other issues: one in Marinduque, 3   Occidental Mindoro, 2 in Oriental Mindoro; 4 in Palawan at 2 in Romblon.
